The City has been awarded a Federal Economic Stimulus Grant through the Michigan Department of Transportation to enhance Johnson Road from the City/Township line north to Eli Avenue. This portion of Johnson Road is federally designated as a "rural collector" and therefore eligible for funding. No other streets within the City are so designated. Work will include repaving, placement of shoulder aggregate and culvert replacements. Angelo Luppino, Inc. was the successful bidder. The project was completed early July, 2010.
