About The City
Location
Bessemer, Michigan is located on the western end of Michigan's Upper Peninsula in an area known as "Big Snow Country" because of the large amounts of lake effect snow coming off of nearby Lake Superior. The rural landscape, proximity to Lake Superior, and massive amounts of snow make the area an outdoor enthusiast's paradise. Bessemer is the county seat of Gogebic County and is home to the historic Gogebic County Courthouse and Gogebic County Sheriff's Department.
